Laura Halttunen is an authentic swing & blues dance teacher, performer, choreographer, director and event organiser. She is also the impressaria and benevolent overlord of Jazz Factory and the oh so fabulous Midnight Follies & Swingin’ Bootleggers performance groups. Laura trains dance students, performers and dance teachers alike; she choreographs dance numbers, directs and costumes shows and performs on stage herself. You can also book perfomances, workshops, tailor-made group classes or private teaching in your preferred dance style to be held at the Jazz Factory dance studio or at an event and location of your choice.

COURSES REGISTRATION DANCE STYLES TEACHERS
Jazz Factory offers professional and fun dance classes in Authentic Swing & Blues dances. Dance styles such as the 20’s Charleston, Authentic Jazz, Lindy hop and Blues all belong to Jazz Factory’s repertoire. Most of these dance styles can be danced solo and as partnered dance. Classes are given in the form of regular weekly classes or intensive workshops, from absolute beginners to advanced dancers. Prices vary according to the courses.

Jazz Factory is also the home of Midnight Follies & Swingin’ Bootleggers, a vintage dance performance group under Laura’s lead. As the core of Jazz Factory’s cabaret shows, this group leaves no audience cold; the Follies & Bootleggers bring life, laughter and sparkle to any event and, indeed can be booked also for private events.

Laura & her Jazz Factory organises dance events both at the Jazz Factory dance studio and elsewhere. Next to throwing an off swing or blues party every now and then, Jazz Factory is also home for the monthly Balboa Fridays – social dance event with great DJs and sometimes live music. The annual, glamorous Speakeasy nights held at Casino Helsinki’s gorgeous Fennia salong have become one of Jazz Factory’s trademarks in the past years. These atmospheric social dance evenings make you travel through time to the 1920-1930’s prohibition era with its gangsters, showgirls and various entertainers; the evenings include fantastic live music, authentic swing & blues DJs and, of course, the most tickling and memorable cabaret dance shows.

Build your own small training group from your close circle or regular dance partners and order a customized dance course based on your own wishes and schedules:

Price: 125€/h (fixed group price)***
* You can choose the dance style, level and themes of the course with your group, or if you need suggestions and ideas, contact Laura and we can develop the main themes of the course together. See examples of lesson topics. Of course, you can also book a group-private lesson, where everyone/all couples will receive coaching for independent practice and personal feedback.
The courses are implemented by a jointly agreed structure (number, frequency and length of classes), but the times and contents of the courses can also be flexibly agreed upon during the progress of the course. See examples of course structures. The calendar, in turn, gives a good indication of the available times at Jazz Factory.
** The hourly rate is 125€/h (incl.VAT24%) per realized hour. So if you get 9 participants, the hourly rate will be only 13.8€/h/person. See the Cancellation Policy.
